During a training session with the folks from Play (lookatmorestuff.com) they introduced a little technique they call Thief and Doctor. Essentially, it is a process of stealing insights from one industry and doctoring them to fit your current situation.
During some design work this week, I thought I'd give that a try in an attempt to ground our Closer to the Customer work coming up on Thursday. An earlier post made mention of a quote from life learning magazine.... here is my attempt at doctoring that wonderful insight to fit what this coming week holds:
Since it is impossible to anticipate the future needs of customers from the confines of your office, it is senseless to try.
The world is moving far too fast and preferences are shifting too quickly for that.
Instead, we must strive to love customers so much, and co-create with them so well, that we will be the first to serve them in the ways they seek.
