Today, I hosted (along with Joanne of Cook and assorted other fame) an Open Space as a follow up from the 3-day evolution we hosted in June. Those three days in June produced lots of great ideas - but the group felt challenged to take those ideas and get them out of the room and into action. So - with 2.5 hours at our disposal - we opened space around what's next.
The result? Simply remarkable. The marriage of passion with responsibility resulted in action plans that in many cases are extremely detailed - giving the who, what and when of next steps. Great stuff that. How else can one convene a conversation where people engage around their passions and generate meaningful action plans in less than 3 hours?
Next week, I join the rest of the Cook team for an evening Cook session - should prove fun. I'll try to report back. Also, a couple of weeks ago I joined a three person hosting team for a morning session for local not-for-profits all working to help those with disabilities find gainful employ. I'll see if I can post some thoughts on that too.
All for now. Gotta run.
